Mrs. Hart’s class created pumpkins on the website ABCya.com. Once they made their pumpkin, students were asked to write a sentence about the pumpkins using adjectives we discussed!

I would make a good leprechaun because… by Ms. James’ Class
Ms. James’ first graders first discussed with a partner & as a class what qualities make a good leprechaun. Next they wrote an answer to the question, “Why would you make a good leprechaun?” (You can find that recording sheet here.) Finally, students used the ChatterPix Kids app to record themselves reading their sentences. Enjoy their work!
Ms. James’ Class Learned about Washington & Lincoln
Ms. James’ class watched BrainPopJr. videos about George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. As they were watching, they used this recording sheet to take notes about things they found interesting.
Next they used the ChatterPix app to make an animated video about what they learned. Enjoy their work!

When We’re 100… by Ms. James’ Class
To celebrate the upcoming 100th day of school, Ms. James’ class used the AgingBooth app to see what they might look like when they are 100 years old. Next, we worked together to make a Venn Diagram of what they are like now versus what they will be like when they are 100. Enjoy their work!
Clifford’s First Snow Day by Ms. James’ Class
Ms. James’ 1st graders watched a video story of Clifford’s First Snow Day. Next they used Popplet to make a graphic organizer of what they would need for a snow day with Clifford. Popplet can be used online or as an app on a mobile device. Their work was compiled via a Photos slideshow on a Macbook. Enjoy their work!
Christmas Tree Adjectives by Ms. James’ Class
Ms. James’ 1st graders listened to the book, Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree, and listened for describing words (adjectives) that would describe a Christmas tree.
Next they used the Christmas Tree Fun game by abcya.com to decorate a Christmas tree and write their own describing word for a Christmas tree with ornaments. Enjoy their work!
