Learning About Martin Luther King, Jr.
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. day, Mrs. Barlow’s students learned about his life and his work. First, they watched a BrainPop, Jr. video about him.
Next, we discussed how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was working to make the world a better place. Students used their choice of tool to show how they would make the world a better place. The tools they used included:

Skyping with Santa

Maker Day
Mrs. Barlow’s class had a “Maker Day.” They used a variety of materials to construct, use their imaginations, explore a few physics concepts, tell stories and have fun. Among the materials they used were:

Weather Observations
Working in groups, Mrs. Barlow’s class used the iPad camera to take photographs that represented their weather observations. Next they used the Super Collage app to compile and label their pictures. Their work is shared via flickr. Enjoy their work!
